.......................................................(Pictures on this page from Chief Joe Mc
Call - Ass't Chief Robert Mauldin)
This is the first actual picture of NLRFD'S new 100' Aerial Platform that I have received. The photo was made at the Pierce Manufacturing Company Factory in Appleton, Wisconsin. The lettering "North Little Rock Fire Dept" is on the front door. "Truck 7A" is on the rear door. The new aerial platform will be housed at Station 7 at Mc Cain and North Hills. There is plenty of storage space in the many compartments for specialized equipment for rescues, forced entries into structures, etc. The 1500 GPM Pump will enable the truck to have hose laid straight from a hydrant to fight large fires without having to wait on a pumper to hook up and supply water. Note the hose bed just above the pump panel. There is plenty of seating for firefighters in the air conditioned cab. The aerial ladder will reach a little over 100 feet.
More pictures of the new Truck 7A while it was still at the Pierce factory follow:
There is
still some lettering to be done on the basket of the platform and
on the front of
the truck. "N L R F D" most likely will be on the front
of the cab.
This will
be the first apparatus with a pump and a ladder the department
has owned since
the 1947 Seagrave Ladder Truck!
"Truck 7-A" is
proudly enscribed across the back roll-up door of the new
Platform in
the same style as Engine 9 and Engine 10 both display their
company designations now.
NLRFD officers inspect the new
aerial at the Pierce Factory during the week of June 17, 2002.
EVERY FIRE DEPARTMENT
IN ARKANSAS (AND SURROUNDING STATES) WOULD BE GLAD TO HAVE THIS
APPARATUS IN THEIR DEPARTMENT, SINCE NORTH LITTLE ROCK NOW HAS A
STATE OF THE ART AERIAL PLATFORM!
In the event of an emergency, this apparatus will save the lives
of our citizens and save our property!
